UNISON fights discrimination and prejudice in the workplace on behalf of its lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender + (LGBT+) members.

We do this by building local and national groups of LGBT+ members, negotiating with employers and offering individual support to anyone experiencing discrimination. We also provide access to practical advice and legal information.

  • Did you know that UNISON has an annual conference for members who self-identify as LGBT+.  This debates LGBT+ policy issues.
  • Across the UK there are UNISON branch and regional networks that allow our LGBT+ members to discuss and campaign on issues important to them.
  • Are you concerned that government cuts are impacting on services provided to LGBT+ communities? Or want to see LGBT+ needs better represented in Society?
  • Do you have positive experiences you would like us to share with other UNISON members elsewhere to help make a difference in other employers and communities?

UNISON has long campaigned for LGBT+ rights both in the UK and internationally.  We have strong links with LGBT+ groups worldwide, and we campaign for change within the workplace and in our communities too.

Visit the UNISON National Website for futher news and information.
