Following receipt of the full and final offer of 3.3% for council and school workers in England, Cymru, and Northern Ireland UNISON’s committee of leading activists have decided to ballot members for strike action.
The ballot will run in a selected number of target employers from 9 July until 6 August.
You should now have received your purple envelope with your ballot paper enclosed. We’re asking you to vote YES for strike action to secure better pay for you and your colleagues working in councils and schools.
The ballot closes on Thursday 6 August – make sure you return your ballot paper in good time to ensure it arrives before this date. Use the provided pre-paid envelope and post it back today!

Know a colleague who is yet to join UNISON? Please encourage them to join by Thursday 23 July so that they’ll be eligible to vote in the ballot.
