Nottingham SOS24 Campaign will continue its fight to save the jobs and services that the majority of councillors voted to cut as part of the budget proposals at the Full Council meeting on 4 March. The exception was one very brave and admirable councillor who took a stand in support of our campaign against these savage cuts and voted against the budget – they have our full support and solidarity in taking this principled stand.
We need as many people as possible to join us on the March on Saturday to show support for our campaign to demand more funding from Central Government to prevent the drastic cuts to the most vulnerable people in Nottingham.
And we’re not alone in this fight. Many more councils are experiencing the same financial crisis, and the plight of local government is featuring more prominently in the media, So now is the time to show our determination not to simply accept these cuts as inevitable, but to demand the funding our council, and many others need, to ensure vital services continue to be provided and to build for a national campaign.
