UNISON has received a pay offer from the National Joint Council (NJC) Employers’ Side, the key points are:
£1290 on all pay points from 1st April which is equivalent to 5.77% on Spinal Column Point (SCP) 2, 2.5% on SCP point 43 and 2.5% on all SCPs above 43.
- 2.5% on all NJC allowances
- Rejection of our demands for a shorter working week, extra day of leave, £15 an hour minimum rate by 2026
- Offer of pay gap data discussions
- Re-committed to reviewing the pay spine
UNISON has done some analysis of what the NJC Employers’ pay offer of £1290 means across the NJC pay spine – please click here. The first few columns show the annual and hourly pay rates for each pay point for 2023, then what the impact of the 2024 pay offer would be, if implemented, including the percentage increase for each pay point.

The NJC Committee met on 22 May, where it considered the Employers’ offer from 1 April 2024 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland), and agreed to hold a consultation of members on the offer. The on-line consultation will run from early June until 28 June, so you will receive an email asking you to vote. If you do not receive an email vote you can vote on-line here . You will need your UNISON membership number or NI number to vote.
The consultation will be held on the basis of recommending that members vote to REJECT the offer.
